Will Atkins is a cricket blogger and aspiring journalist. Despite being born and raised in the wastelands of Surrey, Will has always supported Middlesex, ever since being taken to Lord's for his first county game between Middlesex and Kent. (Luckily Middlesex won, otherwise this would most likely be a blog about Rob Key's eating habits).
Will is perhaps best known around Lord's for his role as Pinky the Panther, where thanks to some creative logic, he managed to remain unbeaten during the 2011 T20 group-stage race campaign (which is more than can be said for the actual team). He has written "Pinky's T20 Diary" for the official Middlesex website, and has also appeared as a summariser on BBC London's coverage of Middlesex alongside Kevin Hand - but none of this means he actually knows what's going on inside the club!
After the success of promotion in 2011, Will decided to start this blog to chronicle Middlesex's fortunes through the 2012 season. He hopes to bring you news, interviews and thoughts on Middlesex's campaign, which will hopefully end just as successfully as the last.
Will, who classes himself as an inoffensive left-arm spinner and lower-order dasher, still holds out hope of one day turning out for Middlesex (although a couple of overs as sub fielder will suffice), but regards writing, talking, and running around as a panther for Middlesex as the next best thing.
(Note - anything put up here is just Will's opinions and nothing to do with those of Middlesex CCC!)
